Step 2: Choose Number of Cards

  • Cards: Select how many flashcards you want generated from the dropdown menu. Options include 5, 10, 20, or 30 cards. A set of 10 cards is selected by default for a balanced study session.

Step 3: Add Notes (Optional)

Step 7: Edit Your Deck

  • Edit Tab: Review all generated cards in a list. You can edit any card to update the question, answer, hint, or category, add new cards manually, or delete cards that aren’t relevant. Changes are saved instantly to your active deck.

Step 8: Test Yourself with Quiz Mode

  • Quiz Tab: Switch to quiz mode to test your knowledge with multiple-choice questions generated from your flashcard deck. Your live score is tracked throughout and displayed at the end so you can measure how well you’ve learned the material.

AI Flashcard Generator Formula

The AI Flashcard Generator follows a structured input-to-output process to produce high-quality study cards:

Flashcard Quality = Topic Clarity + Difficulty Level + Custom Notes

Where:

  • Topic Clarity is how specific and well-defined your input topic is
  • Difficulty Level determines whether questions test recall, understanding, or application
  • Custom Notes grounds the AI’s output in your specific study material, increasing relevance

The more specific your inputs, the more targeted and exam-ready your flashcards will be.

What subjects can I use the AI Flashcard Generator for?

The AI Flashcard Generator works for virtually any subject — school topics like math, science, history, and literature; professional certifications like PMP, CPA, or USMLE; language learning; coding and technology; and even custom personal study material when you paste your own notes.

How accurate are the AI-generated flashcards?

The AI generates flashcards based on well-established knowledge for common topics and produces highly accurate results for standard academic and professional subjects. For specialized or niche content, pasting your own notes into the Notes field ensures the cards are grounded in your exact material rather than general knowledge.

Can I edit the flashcards after they are generated?

Yes. After generation, switch to the Edit tab to review all cards in a list view. You can modify any card’s question, answer, hint, or category, delete cards that aren’t relevant, or add entirely new cards manually. All changes are reflected immediately in the Preview and Quiz modes.

What is the difference between Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty?

Easy cards focus on basic recall — definitions, names, and simple facts. Medium cards require understanding of concepts, comparisons, and cause-and-effect relationships. Hard cards demand analytical thinking, application of knowledge, and multi-step reasoning, making them ideal for high-stakes exams and certification preparation.

How does the Quiz mode work?

Quiz mode presents each flashcard as a multiple-choice question with four answer options — the correct answer plus three plausible distractors generated by the AI. Your score is tracked in real time and displayed at the end of the quiz. You can retry the quiz as many times as needed to improve your score.

Can I use my own study notes with this tool?

Yes. The optional Notes field accepts any text — lecture notes, textbook passages, article summaries, or your own written material. When notes are provided, the AI tailors the flashcard questions and answers directly to that content, making the cards far more useful for exam prep tied to specific coursework.

What is the Mobile view in the flashcard preview?

The Mobile view displays each flashcard in a vertical 9:16 portrait format, simulating how the card would appear on a smartphone screen. This is useful for checking how your flashcards will look on mobile devices. You can switch between Mobile and Desktop views at any time using the toggle in the preview header.

How many flashcards can I generate at once?

You can generate up to 30 flashcards in a single session. For larger topics, you can generate multiple batches by adjusting the topic to focus on subtopics — for example, generating one set for “Human Digestive System” and another for “Human Nervous System” within a broader biology study plan.
