Unified Infrastructure Stack
The architecture is built on a layered approach: Physical Infrastructure (Servers,
Storage, Networking) -> vSphere (ESXi Hypervisor) -> Management and Orchestration
Layer. VVF serves as the core infrastructure foundation for enterprise virtualization,
while VCF provides the complete Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) stack.
VVF vs. VCF Differentiation
VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) is designed for mid-to-large scale virtualization
requirements, including vSphere, vCenter, and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid. VMware Cloud
Foundation (VCF) is the flagship private cloud platform, adding NSX (Networking),
vSAN (Storage), and advanced Aria operations and automation to the core stack.
