Beyond these numbers, what inspires us most is

how our partners are reimagining what’s possible in

a time of tighter resources and surging community

demands. They are using AI to gain better insights

and enhance decisionmaking, increase efficiency

and lower costs and, in turn, deliver deeper impact

and expand their reach. They’re collaborating with

one another — and with us — to drive systemic

change for the communities they serve.

These actions are not only creating impact at the

community level; they're also strengthening the

organizations themselves, helping them attract

additional funding to fuel continued solution

enhancement, scale and financial sustainability. To

better support them, we’ve deepened our technical

advisory services, provided increased flexibility, and

prioritized opportunities for connection.

As we look ahead to fiscal 2026, we’re eager to

see the next wave of impact from our AI and digital

innovation investments and to continue supporting

both well-established organizations and promising

new organizations and solutions that are redefining

At the Cisco Foundation, we are

constantly reminded why we do

this work: When technology and

human ingenuity come together, we

unlock opportunities for people and

communities everywhere.

This year, we’ve seen that time and time again

in the work of our partners — from organizations

helping people rebuild their lives after incarceration

to social enterprises expanding access to

education, financing, vital services, and climate

solutions. While we provide support, it’s our

partners’ creativity, resilience, and commitment

that bring transformation to life.

Seed-Level Funding

The Foundation provides early-stage,

seed-level funding through grants and

climate impact investments. We focus on

four sectors where Cisco’s expertise,

people, and technology can create the

greatest impact:

About the Foundation

The Cisco Foundation, established in 1997, is dedicated to fostering connected,

resilient, and thriving global communities. Over the past three decades, we have

partnered with nonprofit and for-profit organizations — from established leaders

to emerging innovators — to tackle complex challenges with bold, technology-

driven solutions. We support our partners in creating, validating, and scaling

solutions that advance the well-being and economic opportunity of underserved

communities as well as support a resilient environment for future generations.

Catalytic Capital

Our funding model aims to fill a critical

gap in early-stage funding by providing

patient and catalytic capital to high potential

organizations. While often viewed as risky,

these early investments enable organizations

to develop, test, and then replicate and scale

technology enabled solutions to pressing

societal challenges. The organizations are

then better positioned to attract additional

funding and achieve widespread adoption,

impact, and financial sustainability.

This catalytic support is strengthened by

strategic guidance, technology donations

from Cisco Systems, Inc., and our global

employee volunteer community. This helps

provide our partners with the tools, expertise,

and collaboration they need to drive

meaningful, scalable change.

AI in Action

Artificial intelligence (AI) is unlocking bold new solutions to some of society’s toughest challenges.

The Cisco Foundation is using that power for positive impact – helping organizations leverage AI

both in their internal operations and in the communities they serve.

This fiscal year, our partners leveraged AI to gain better and more timely insights into their

operations, increase efficiencies, reduce costs, and more, enabling them to replicate and scale

their programs to reach new geographies and people. They also deployed AI solutions externally

among the communities they support to tackle issues across our four investment sectors.

charity: water

charity: water’s mission is to bring clean, safe drinking water

to everyone. With support from the Cisco Foundation, charity:

water developed the India Mark II sensor, an IoT device that

monitors hand pumps in rural communities. These sensors

collect data on water flow, temperature, and pump activity,

which is transmitted in real time. Using AI and machine

learning algorithms, the system analyzes sensor data to

predict pump failures before they happen and enables

proactive maintenance. This helps minimize downtime and

improve water system reliability, helping safeguard access to

clean water for people living in water insecure communities

around the world. Since 2006, charity: water has delivered

safe water to 20.3 million people across 29 countries.

Opportunity International

Opportunity International is helping people living in poverty

transform their lives and communities. Cisco Foundation

funding for their AI-fueled CoLab Digital Innovation Hub

enabled them to rapidly design, test, and scale breakthrough

technology solutions like FarmerAI, an app that provides

smallholder farmers across Africa access to AI-powered

insights. By leveraging AI solutions, Opportunity International

has dramatically reduced their costs to serve clients, enabling

them to reach even more people. As a result, millions of

clients now benefit from digital financial services, training,

and AI-driven solutions at their fingertips. These efforts are

helping to create jobs, digitize savings groups, and improve

livelihoods for an estimated 10 million people in Uganda,

Ghana, Malawi, and India.

Code.org

Code.org is transforming education by providing free,

high-quality computer science and AI learning to students

worldwide. With support from the Cisco Foundation, Code.

org has been able to introduce AI-focused modules for

student learning accompanied by teacher training resources.

As of 2023, over 102 million students and three million

teachers have engaged with Code.org’s platform, creating

more than 232 million student projects. These efforts are

fostering digital literacy and preparing the next generation for

an AI-driven world.

Mitti Labs

Supported by the Cisco Foundation's Regenerative Future

Fund (our US$100M climate resilience commitment), Mitti

Labs is employing a tech-driven approach to reducing

methane emissions from rice. Their AI-powered digital

monitoring, reporting, and verification platform combines

satellite and sensor data with field support to help farmers

adopt alternate wetting and drying techniques. This can

help reduce methane and water usage while maintaining or

increasing yields. Mitti Labs has onboarded 40,000 farmers

across India since 2023 and continues to expand through

South India and Punjab.

Cisco Crisis

Response

We mobilize to

we’re proving that lifesaving response

doesn’t require advanced infrastructure

— just the right technology in the

right hands. Thanks to the Cisco

Foundation’s support, we’ve been able

to scale this vision faster. Our mission

is to make sure no one is left without

help when they need it most.”

Trek Medics International

Beyond funding, the Cisco Foundation also

provides strategic guidance that has helped Trek

Medics expand their reach. This has included

new programs with volunteer ambulance services

and fire departments in the U.K., Colombia, and

Belize, as well as critical mental health crisis

response initiatives across 12 U.S. states.

Through these efforts, in 2024, Beacon facilitated

more than 42,000 emergency responses

worldwide and onboarded hundreds of new

responders across 18 new response agencies,

including hurricane response in Florida,

ambulance services in Venezuela and South

Africa, emergency medical support in Belgium,

and prehospital emergency care in Tanzania.

PARTNER FEATURE

Trek Medics

Trek Medics is making emergency

care more accessible for all through

its innovative mobile-first platform,

Beacon.

Beacon is a cloud-based emergency dispatch

system that enables communities to build local

911-like networks using only mobile phones.

Operating in more than 20 countries, it allows

volunteer and professional responders — from

ambulance and fire services to community health

and mental health teams — to receive alerts, track

incidents, and coordinate responses quickly and

effectively. This system works even where no

traditional infrastructure exists.

With its ability to launch in under 30 minutes and

adapt to local languages and workflows, Beacon

is indispensable in both daily emergencies and

large-scale disasters around the world, from Haiti

to East Africa to Latin America.

In 2019, a Cisco Foundation technology grant

helped Trek Medics adapt Beacon for disaster

scenarios by adding features such as self-

service mapping and annotated local maps for

rapid deployment. Since then, the partnership

has supported validation and scaling of the app,

introducing enhancements like Push-to-Talk

functionality and HIPAA-compliant patient care

reports.

PARTNER FEATURE

FINCA Ventures

FINCA Ventures is working to

eradicate global poverty by backing

early-stage social enterprises that

deliver scalable financial and climate

solutions across Africa.

Their team provides patient capital and actively

partners with entrepreneurs who create solutions

that help grow income and social resilience

for families and small businesses. These help

communities build stability and long-term

economic opportunities.

According to the 2025 Global Findex Report,

more than one billion adults remain excluded from

formal financing opportunities, with women and

rural populations disproportionately affected. In

addition, early-stage social enterprises often face

challenges to growth, many of which are amplified

when delivering products and services to poor

and low-income families in emerging markets.

Few impact investors are willing to invest in these

early-stage startups. Together, Cisco Foundation

and FINCA Ventures are helping to close that

gap, demonstrating how impact investing and

technology can create transformative and lasting

change.

In 2025, Cisco Foundation provided technical

assistance funding to four FINCA Ventures

investees:

Affinity Africa (Ghana):

Expanding digital

financial literacy for women and informal

workers.

Good Nature Agro (Zambia):

Advancing

credit scoring models to unlock finance for

smallholder farmers.

•

Kwara (Kenya):

Piloting a liquidity program

that gives community-owned savings groups

timely access to credit.

•

Fluid Finance Technologies (Ghana):

Integrating financial, mechanization, and

advisory services to help farmers build climate

resilience.

These investments and strategic guidance help

validate the social enterprises’ model, enable

them to secure follow-on funding, and allow

them the space to test and innovate. These

efforts have positively impacted over 1.5 million

people in sub-Saharan Africa.

communities move forward. Thanks to the Cisco Foundation, we’re able to stand alongside

bold entrepreneurs who are rewriting what’s possible for Africa’s future.”

Raspberry Pi

Foundation

The Raspberry Pi Foundation

inspires the next generation of

technology creators by making

computing education accessible

and engaging for all.

Since 2021, the Cisco Foundation has supported

the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s mission to unlock

the power of computing and digital technologies

for all students, including students in areas where

device access and connectivity are challenges. This

partnership enables the creation of accessible, no-

cost learning experiences in schools and community

venues, supporting educators and allowing students

aged nine and up to learn how to code digital

technology projects.

The Raspberry Pi Foundation also introduces

students to AI through their free curriculum and

hands-on activities, always with a focus on

accessibility and responsible use. Kids learn how AI

works so they can make informed decisions about

using and creating AI applications and what role AI

will play in their futures, building what the Raspberry

Pi Foundation calls “agency in a digital world.”

Through its Global Partners network, the Raspberry

Pi Foundation supports the growth of Code Clubs,

trains educators and volunteers, supplies free

teaching resources, and translates and localizes

curriculum and coding projects. The Raspberry Pi

foundation is active in the U.K., U.S., Ireland, Kenya,

India, and South Africa.

Last year, over 600,000 young people completed

online coding projects through the Raspberry Pi

Foundation, and nearly 8,000 Code Clubs ran in

119 countries. Girls represent 40% of Code Club

attendees.

Digital Green

Digital Green is co-creating a world

where farmers use technology

and data to build prosperous

communities.

The Cisco Foundation is supporting this mission

through grants that support the development

and scaling of FarmerChat. This AI assistant for

farmers delivers localized, actionable guidance

on regenerative agriculture practices, as well as

weather, crop, and pest disease risks. The Cisco

Foundation has supported FarmerChat through

their climate commitment since 2024, and the

broader Foundation has supported the

organization since 2014.

Since 2023, more than 460,000 farmers have

benefitted from FarmerChat’s support, adding to the

ecosystem of 8.2 million farmers that Digital Green's

broader work has served since 2008.

Leveraging AI to scale regenerative practices

in agriculture has never been more important.

Smallholder agriculture is a critical climate lever

because it addresses emissions, helps build

adaptation capacity for vulnerable farmers, and

sustains food systems. Traditional farmer extension

services, such as field officers who travel to reach

and train farmers in rural communities, cost about

US$35 to train one farmer to adopt one new

practice. FarmerChat brings that cost to as low as

US$0.35 per farmer. In addition, evidence shows that

80% of farmers take an action based on FarmerChat

advice, and 57% of users reported an improvement

to their quality of life.

In particular, FarmerChat benefits women, who

often face barriers to agricultural information due to

low connectivity, limited phone ownership, and low

literacy, among other factors. FarmerChat overcomes

this through the use of voice, text, images, and

videos in regional languages.

Digital Green is poised to expand further into Latin

America, South Asia, and additional regions of

Africa and Asia, democratizing access to farming

knowledge on a global scale.

PARTNER FEATURE

Hohonu

Backed by the Cisco Foundation’s

Regenerative Future Fund, Hohonu

has expanded into underserved

communities where federal and

state monitoring is sparse.

This support aligns with Cisco’s strengths in

networking, IoT, and digital transformation, and

we continue to look for pragmatic ways to help

the organization scale impact.

Momentum is growing across coastal regions,

including across the east coast of the U.S.,

where Hohonu’s deployments are helping local

governments and emergency managers improve

preparedness and response. Their trusted data

is increasingly integrated into public warning

systems and media coverage during severe

weather events, which strengthens public

awareness and confidence in decision

making. Hohonu is also capturing and sharing

on-the-ground lessons from its partners through

new case studies that help other communities

accelerate flood resilience.

Internationally, Hohonu is piloting collaborative

projects with environmental organizations to

extend its impact. The company continues to

evolve its platform with new tools that make

flood and tide data more actionable for both

public and private stakeholders.

With a few well-placed sensors and

open data, we can turn flood risk from a

surprise into something communities can

see coming and plan around. The Cisco

Foundation’s investment allows us to

scale both our network and our impact —

making resilience possible everywhere,

not just in places with existing flood

infrastructure.”

Public Partnerships

Cisco Foundation partners drive systemic

change by collaborating with regional and

national governments to scale proven solutions.

For example, Living Goods has been a lead

technical advisor to Kenya's Ministry of Health

in implementing its National Community Health

Digitization Strategy. They also advised the

Ethiopian Ministry of Health on integrating

performance management into its national

community health program. These types of

public-sector partnerships have the power to

influence policy, expand programs nationwide,

and transform entire systems for lasting impact.

Community Collaboration

Cisco combines people, technology, and

grant-making to make a larger impact on our

world. For example, in fiscal 2025, the Cisco

Foundation deepened its partnership with Habitat

for Humanity, combining financial grants and

employee volunteerism to build safe, affordable

homes worldwide. Cisco employees contributed

significant volunteer hours, unlocking Habitat’s

build grants that supported 18 Habitat affiliates

globally. Cisco then matched employee time and

donations, amplifying their impact. Collaborations

with partners like Greater Indy Habitat and Eli Lilly

strengthened regional ties. Together, the Cisco

Foundation and Habitat for Humanity affiliates around

the world empower families with stable housing,

fostering hope and resilience through teamwork and

generosity for lasting impact.

Catalytic Funding

Early-stage investments from the Cisco Foundation

often help launch and pilot new programs, especially

when other funding is difficult to secure. Once

proven, partners are in a better position to secure

sustainable funding. The Foundation supports Defy

Ventures, an organization that empowers formerly

incarcerated individuals through entrepreneurship

and career readiness programs. Cisco’s initial

funding helped Defy digitize its prison-based

“CEO of Your New Life” curriculum and in-reach

newsletters, making them accessible via prison

tablets. After early results demonstrated the

potential of this approach, Defy secured a $4.5

million, three-year investment from California’s

Board of State and Community Corrections to

expand statewide reentry programming.

Tech for Social Good

Tech for Social Good is a skills-based,

pro-bono volunteering program in which

Cisco employees share their professional

expertise in areas like data science, AI,

operational efficiency, and digital strategy

to support Cisco’s partners.

In fiscal 2025, Cisco employees amplified

the Foundation’s grants and investments by

contributing their time and technical skills

to Cisco and Cisco Foundation partners

through Tech for Social Good. The dynamic

combination of financial and hands-on

technical support, paired with strategic

expertise, helps organizations more quickly

and effectively deliver their mission.

Regional Solution Grants

The Foundation’s Regional Solution Grant Program (RSG) is designed

to amplify the community impact of Cisco employees by encouraging

partnerships with local or regional nonprofits. This approach expands the

delivery of digital technology solutions that create real, lasting differences

where our employees are based.

RSG opens the door for many nonprofits to

benefit from Cisco’s collective strength. We

invite employees to nominate local or regional

nonprofits whose work aligns with one of our

key social investment sectors: crisis response,

economic empowerment, education, or climate

resilience. Employee nominations often uncover

new and innovative social and environmental

solutions. Cisco’s grant support helps scale

tech-enabled solutions that enable communities

to unlock new opportunities and achieve greater

impact.

Every nomination is reviewed by our global,

employee-led Regional Grant Committees.

These teams bring their professional expertise

and personal passion to the process, ensuring

that each partner receives the guidance and

resources it needs to thrive.

Climate Resilience:

World Wildlife

Foundation-Australia

World Wildlife Foundation (WWF)-

Australia was nominated by

employees for Cisco Foundation

funding to develop and launch the

Vegetation Monitoring & Assessment

Program (VMAP), a breakthrough

digital tool for conservation. This

open-access system uses high-

resolution mapping to detect

vegetation changes nationwide.

For the first time, farmers can track

forest loss and regrowth, measure

carbon impacts, and support

deforestation-free supply chains

with free, transparent data.

Crisis Response:

Shelter Movers

Following an employee nomination

that led to Cisco Foundation support,

Shelter Movers built MoveHub, a

custom technology platform that

helps survivors of abuse move to

safety with dignity and speed.

Shelter Movers is Canada’s only

national nonprofit offering free,

trauma-informed moving and

storage services, helping survivors

and their children escape violence

without financial barriers. Each

move involves urgent timing, secure

storage, and coordination among

hundreds of volunteers and partner

agencies. The Cisco Foundation’s

partnership strengthened MoveHub’s

security, simplified referrals, and

expanded capacity.

Today, more than 2,000 survivors

each year across Canada access

faster, safer support, proving how

technology can turn a difficult and

often dangerous transition into a

safe first step toward autonomy and

healing.

Economic Empowerment:

Heights and Minds

In Senegal, Cisco’s employee team

saw an opportunity to help Heights

& Minds Foundation (HMF). HMF

leverages technology to address

critical, early-life challenges:

malnutrition and brain development.

With support from the Cisco

Foundation, HMF is integrating safe,

high-quality childcare services

into their MindUp centers while

equipping parents with digital

tools to track and support their

children’s growth during a crucial

developmental window: the first

1,000 days of life. Cisco Foundation

funding also enables the launch

of childcare cooperatives, giving

mothers reliable support and the

chance to build small businesses.

Through these efforts, HMF and

Cisco are transforming early

childhood care and community

livelihoods in Senegal — an approach

now poised to scale across Africa

and Asia.

From Australia to Canada to Senegal, these examples highlight how Regional Solution

Grants empower employee-nominated nonprofit partners to harness technology for

good. Together, they demonstrate how local innovation can be translated into meaningful,

far-reaching impact for communities and the environment.
